Gently wrapped in plain colors, like grass adorned with flowers, the design of peony arrangements is kept simple and uncluttered to showcase the stunning beauty of the peonies.
When in full bloom, the multitude of petals displays a vibrant array of colors. But how can we prolong the lifespan of these exquisite blooms? To ensure your peony flowers thrive, remember the following key points:

1. Keep the flower container clean:

Before arranging your peonies, it's crucial to clean the container thoroughly. Ideally, use a disinfectant to sterilize it, followed by a rinse with water. A clean container prevents contamination of the water, which can lead to decay and a shorter flowering period for your peonies.

2. Water change and replenishment:

Unless the temperature exceeds 25-30 degrees Celsius, aim to change the water every two days. Alongside water changes, clean the container and trim the submerged part of the peony stems. Cutting a small section from the base of the stem encourages better water absorption, extending the bloom time. Should the water level decrease in the container, promptly replenish it to maintain the original level.

3. Use a freshness preservative:

Introduce a freshness preservative into the water. The quantity needed depends on the size of the container and the water volume. This preservative helps prolong the lifespan of your peonies, ensuring a longer-lasting display of blooms.

4. Avoid submerging peony leaves:

Leaving peony leaves submerged in water can hinder the plant's ability to breathe and lead to premature decay. Trim any leaves that may come into contact with the water during the arrangement to maintain water quality and prolong the flowers' lifespan.

5. Keep peony arrangements away from ripening fruit:

Ripening fruits release ethylene, which accelerates the decay of peony flowers. Keep your peony arrangements away from areas where fruits are stored to prevent premature wilting.
Furthermore, ensure your peonies receive ample sunlight to promote healthy growth and vibrant blooms. Adequate sunlight encourages bud development, leading to larger and brighter flowers. Opt for loose, well-drained sandy soil enriched with organic fertilizer for optimal growth. Peonies are relatively drought-resistant, so avoid overwatering, but ensure the soil remains moist during the budding period.
To support flowering, provide sufficient nutrients by supplementing with balanced compound fertilizer every month. Before the flowering period, apply phosphorus and potassium fertilizer to stimulate blooming and enhance the vibrancy of the flowers. Check for signs of pests or diseases and treat them promptly if detected.
