Glow Essential

I didn’t always pay much attention to highlighter. For the longest time, I thought it was just an extra step I could skip.
But once I started experimenting a bit more, I realized how it can quietly change the whole look—nothing dramatic, just a certain glow that catches the light at the right moment.
Recently, I’ve been alternating between two: Hojo Highlighter and ESQA Intense Highlighter. They sit on opposite ends of the spectrum, and that’s exactly why I enjoy using them together.

1. Hojo Highlighter

This one feels light, almost delicate. The glow it gives isn’t loud—it’s more like a soft reflection that shows up when the light hits at certain angles. I usually reach for it during the day, especially when I want something that looks effortless. It blends easily, and I don’t have to worry about going overboard. It’s the kind of highlighter that makes people wonder why your skin looks fresh, rather than pointing directly to the product.

2. ESQA Intense Highlighter

As the name suggests, this one doesn’t hold back. The shine is more noticeable, more defined. I tend to use it when I’m in the mood for something a bit bolder, especially for evenings or when I know I’ll be under stronger lighting. It adds that extra dimension that can make the whole makeup look feel more complete. I usually apply it with a lighter hand at first, then build it up depending on how much glow I want.
These two remind me that highlighter doesn’t have to be one-note. Sometimes it’s barely there, sometimes it takes the spotlight. Having both gives me that range, and somehow it keeps things from feeling repetitive.
